Vigil to be held for 2 fallen Las Vegas officers
LAS VEGAS (AP) – A candlelight vigil will be held for two Las Vegas police officers near where they were fatally shot.
The vigil for officers Alyn Beck and Igor Soldo will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at the corner of Nellis Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.
It will be hosted by the organization 10,000 Kids Inc.
Pastor Troy Martinez says the purpose of the vigil is to show support to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and to send a message that “this type of violence will not be tolerated.”
The two officers were having lunch Sunday at a pizza buffet in a strip mall when Jerad and Amanda Miller fatally shot them at point-blank range. The suspects then fled to a nearby Wal-Mart, where they gunned down a bystander before killing themselves.
